Chances of getting funded: slim.
One of the reviewers had specific suggestions for ways to further strengthen the proposed work, recommending that we include plans to (and preliminary work on) making directed point mutations in key genes. This is something we can certainly do, though the lack of a good counterselectable marker will still be a problem.
RFK Jr. is not a serious person. Don't take him seriously.
